There are more children homeless in Wyoming than one might think.
School districts, through the McKinney Vento Act provide an additional data point for measuring homelessness, with a focus on children and youth experiencing homelessness. Under the McKinney Vento Act, the term “homeless children and youths” is defined as individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence.
Data for the academic year 2019-2020 indicates a total of 1,771 children and youth experiencing homelessness
We are thankful for our community partners who give back to their communities.
The monies given out for Direct financial assistance is primaily provided by churches and community members. If your church is looking for additional training on how to manage your benevolence funds, or you do not have the staff and resources available. Please reach out to us.
We would love to share how we are collaborating with community churches to ensure their funding is being used strategically.
